It took them 20 years, but by God, they actually did it – they finally made a sequel to INDEPENDENCE DAY. Jeff Goldblum returns along with some of the cast of the original and director Roland Emmerich in INDEPENDENCE DAY: RESURGENCE, a movie which bombed at the box office and promised another sequel which is… unlikely to come anytime soon! We talk everything from its troubled production history, the kind of interesting worldbuilding, the new cast vs. the old, try to figure out how much of this is a test run for MOONFALL, and also wonder if maybe the movie is kind of fun in spite of everything?
